Most families book in the spring of junior year, so the session can happen in summer or early fall, before senior year gets busy and before yearbook deadlines, which fall in the autumn for many Douglas County schools. The most common thing I hear from parents after a session is that they barely recognized their kid, in the best possible way. And if your senior is nervous or hates having their photo taken, that changes within the first few minutes. I create an environment where teens feel safe, seen, and genuinely themselves. No pressure, no stiff poses, no rushing. Most kids who walk in nervous walk out glowing.

Jennie Bennett Photography is a personal, full-service senior portrait experience, not a volume studio. Every session is fully guided and specifically built around your senior. You're not getting a preset backdrop and a 20-minute turnaround. You're getting a photographer who shows up like a friend, plans every detail with you, and delivers portraits that actually look like your kid.

A few weeks after your session, we'll meet in person, at a favorite coffee shop or right in your home, to look through your full gallery together and choose the pieces that become part of your family's legacy. It's one of my favorite parts of the whole process. You'll relive your session, see your images beautifully presented, and design your collection together. It's included for every client.

I have a handful of favorite locations I return to again and again, so I know exactly how the light falls at every hour. They fit four styles: downtown metro locations, lakes and rivers, flower fields and gardens, mountains, foothills and golden grasslands. During your planning call, we'll choose the style that feels most like you. Yes, and it makes the whole session better. Bringing a friend is part of the Destination Experience, an extended session at a scenic spot within 100 miles of Denver Metro. Some of my favorite laugh-until-you-cry moments happen when a best friend is in the mix.

Every client receives a Senior Style Guide before their session with outfit tips, color advice, and wardrobe direction based on our locations and your personal style. The short answer: bring looks that feel like you on your best day, not a costume version of someone else. We'll talk through everything during your planning call.

Colorado weather is famously unpredictable, and I know it well. If conditions aren't workable on your session day, we'll reschedule. I want your experience to feel relaxed, not stressful, and chasing bad weather is never worth it.

Most sessions run about 1 to 2 hours depending on your Experience, and the Destination Experience runs longer. We build in time to move between locations, change outfits, and let things breathe, because rushed photos look rushed. There's no clock-watching. The experience is part of the deal.

Once booked, we'll have a planning Once you're booked, we'll have a planning call to nail down your locations, outfits, and session details. Your session day is followed by a 2 to 3 week editing window. Then we meet for your reveal and ordering appointment, and final products are typically delivered within a few weeks, depending on what you order. I'll keep you in the loop the whole way.
